He was later contacted by reporter Timyka Artist from WPXI under the throwaway account u/funlovelyt

The news station assembled a crew to investigate but were forbidden entry by a security guard. Soon afterwards the "Burger King" sign was haphahazardly taken off, and the attention of Burger King was drawn.

Turned out that the rogue Burger King was cut off from the franchise due to numerous food quality compliants, but continued to operate clandestinely.
