An **outlier** is a value in a [[Data]] set that significantly differs from other values.

They significantly skew a data set's mean, so are often removed from the said set.

## Potential Uses
- Exclude them from summaries
- They may help you enhance your understanding of something (they're the product of *special* circumstances)
