#statistics ## Types - Discrete variable - consists of isolated numbers separated by gaps (1,2,3, etc) - Continuous variable - consists of numbers whose values, at least in theory, have no restrictions (e.g. weighs - like 140.01438 lbs) - Dependent variables (believed to have been influenced by the independent variable) - Independent variables (manipulated by the investigator in an experiment) **Confounding variable** - an uncontrolled variable that compromises the interpretation of a study.
